Role: Skype for Business

Location: Norwood, MA

Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a Skype for Business Analytics and Customer engagement engineer. Client has on premise Skype pools deployed worldwide. Skype is the primary communication method and platform for instant messaging, conference calling and traditional phone calls at Client. Core responsibilities include overall design, governance and ensuring overall stability of the platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding of the overall design for Skype for Business
  • Provide initial troubleshooting for the Skype for Business this could be from incident tickets or from analysis from monitoring data
  • Utilize tools to monitor and report on the Skype for Business environment; specifically trending information and KPI’s.
  • Review daily top issues for Skype
  • Prepare weekly reports for the Operations Center
  • Identify trends from the Skype Qlikview Dashboard, SCOM, and other monitoring tools
  • Engage customers with bad or not good feedback on Skype calls.
  • Work with customers that are “under monitoring” and provide an analysis of their calls
  • Conduct troubleshooting for Skype issues; this may include working with L3 team
  • Would need to interact with all levels in the organization including CIO and Senior Executives
  • Would need to engage other members of IT more often L1 Service Desk and L3 Conferencing team

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • 1 -2 years in an enterprise with hands on experience on Lync or Skype for Business UC technology
  • Preferred but not required to have an understanding of the Skype Monitoring application and/or the Skype Call Quality Dashboard
  • Preferred to have but not required an understanding Microsoft SCOM or a comparable monitoring tool
  • A plus to have knowledge in PowerShell scripting
  • Understanding of the relationship between Skype for Business and telephony
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills that you can apply in a high pressure environment
  • Preferred but not required to have a general understanding of networking and an appreciation for security mechanisms.
