Job Description: Sr QA Performance Tester

Location: NY

Duration: long term


Responsible for assisting the Quality Assurance group in performance, load and stress testing of large scale web application

• Collect requirements and convert them into performance test plans

• Develop performance, load & stress testing scenarios

• Execute performance tests according to test plans and scripts, document results, and identify and troubleshoot issues

• Develop data driven performance test scripts to help validate performance of application

• Develop custom plug-ins (samplers, configurations, viewers)

• Proficient with HP Performance Center, Jmeter and/ another similar performance test tools to design and execute performance tests against Applications with a multi-tier architecture

• Report test metrics to the management and team lead in a timely manner

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered.

• Over 5+ years of prior experience conducting QA performance testing activities, preferably for or within a New York City government agency or other city government organizations

• Experience using any performance testing tools, preferably HP Performance Center, Jmeter, etc.

• Hands-on experience with performance monitoring tools

• Strong knowledge of continuous integration and delivery systems

• Knowledge of MS SQL, Oracle and Mongo DB

• Knowledge of Soap and Rest Web Services

• Knowledge of Json

• Deep knowledge of Java programming language and design patterns from a performance point of view

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals – including executives, managers, subject matter experts, developers, and field personnel

• Possesses a solid understanding of current technological trends and accepted application development processes.
