Contract Opportunity: Performance Engineer at Seattle, WA – Need Locals

Job Title: Performance Engineer

Location: Seattle, WA

Duration: 6 Months Contract

Description:

Working closely with our engineering teams, the Performance Engineer is primarily responsible for planning, creating, maintaining and executing performance and load test scripts and reporting the results.

Responsibilities:

· Plan performance and load testing approach for various platforms and services

· Create and maintain performance and load testing scripts

· Execute performance and load testing scripts and report results

· Investigate issues discovered during load tests

· Automate performance and load testing and reporting process using Jenkins

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field

· 5 years software engineering experience in C++, Java, or C#

· Good understanding of the network protocol stack, TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS

· Experience with performance testing and analysis

· Experience recording and analyzing network traffic with sniffing and recording tools such as Fiddler, Wireshark, etc.

· Experience with Splunk

· Experience with Jenkins

· Experience with Git or another distributed revision control system

· Excels in a highly collaborative work environment

· Excellent written communication

· Experience as a systems or performance engineer a plus

· NodeJS and JavaScript experience a plus

· Database experience a plus

· Experience with AWS a plus

· Passionate about performance and scale
